Gene Pellerin President - Funeral Director

A life-long resident of Breaux Bridge, Gene is the president of Pellerin Funeral Home and is responsible for the firm’s overall operations.

Gene graduated from Breaux Bridge High School in 1982 and received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1986. He then attended Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, where he graduated as salutatorian in 1988. Gene became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in January 1989.

A member of the St. Martinville Rotary Club, Gene is a past board member of the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce, and served many years on the Legislative Committee with the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association. He is also a past Policy Board member representing Louisiana with the National Funeral Directors Association.

Gene was appointed to serve on the Louisiana State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors by Governor Kathleen Blanco in 2004 and was reappointed in 2008 by Governor Bobby Jindal.

Frank Pellerin Vice President / Secretary-Treasurer & Funeral Director

A native of Breaux Bridge, Frank serves as the Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer of Pellerin Funeral Home.

 

After graduating from Breaux Bridge High School in 1983, Frank received his bachelors degree from Louisiana State University in 1987. He has been a licensed funeral director since September, 1988.

 

Currently, Frank is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Louisiana Funeral Directors Association and the Civic Club de Pont Breaux.

 

Frank served as President of Pellerin Life Insurance Company from 1992-2020.  He is a past member of the Louisiana Insurers Conference.  As a member of the conference, he served on the board of directors from 1992 to 2004, served as a member of the LIC legislative committee, and served as president of the Louisiana Insurers Conference in 1997 and 2003.

 

Frank is a past president of the Breaux Bridge Kiwanis Club. He served on the boards of the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Breaux Bridge Parks & Recreation Commission, and the Breaux Bridge Area Youth Sports, Inc., where he also acted as president.

 

Also, Frank is a member of the United States Parachute Association and is a licensed skydiver.

Patrick J. Menard Funeral Director - Director of Community Outreach - Acadiana Region

Patrick is a native of Rayne, Louisiana and a 1978 graduate of Rayne High School. He attended McNeese State University where he studied Business and Music and graduated from Houston's Commonwealth College of Science in 1987. During his enrollment at Commonwealth, he was the recipient of the J. Neil Dungan Scholastic Award. He has been employed with Pellerin Funeral Homes since 1987, where he currently serves as the Director of Community Outreach for the Acadiana region. He is also a certified crematory operator.



Patrick is a member of the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, past governor of the Southwest Funeral Directors Association, and a member of the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce.



He presently serves as the Director of Music at St. Bernard Catholic Church and is a past Chairman of the Liturgical Commission. As a charter member of Chorale Acadienne, Patrick performs as a baritone soloist and has traveled internationally. Because of his ability to sing in French, the Cajun people have developed a fond appreciation for Patrick and his talents.

George King Funeral Director - Director of Operations - Iberia Parish

A native of Port Arthur, George began his career in funeral service at the age of 16, and is a 1981 Salutatorian graduate of Commonwealth College of Sciences, in Houston, TX, after which he received his license. He worked in New Iberia for a few years, and then in the Port Arthur/Groves area for 17 years, having moved to Abbeville in 2001. In 2004, George received his Certified Funeral Service Practitioner certification. He has been active in many civic organizations throughout his career including, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and others. George is also active in the Southwest Louisiana Funeral Directors Association.



Married to Angela Dufour King, together they have three children. George loves spending time with his family and friends, and looks at funeral service as a "calling", not just a job. "Being there for families and helping them when they need it the most is what's most gratifying to me."

Taylor Guidry Angelle Funeral Director - Director of Operations - St. Martin Parish

Taylor is a native of Carencro and currently resides in Breaux Bridge. She is agraduate of Carencro High School, class of 2008, and knew from her freshman year of high school that she would pursue a career in funeral service. She graduated from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.

 

Taylor began attending Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, TX in 2012. She was granted the Embalming Excellence Award at the graduation ceremony in 2012, where she received a degree in Embalming and Funeral Directing. She was also the recipient of the Gerald M. Robbins, Sr. Scholarship in 2013.

 

Throughout school and part of her internship, Taylor was employed with a local funeral home. She completed her internship at Pellerin Funeral Home, where she is currently employed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer.

 

Taylor has remained very involved with UL and is an avid supporter of Ragin Cajun Athletics. She attends Our Savior’s Church in Lafayette.

James Allemond Funeral Director

James has been involved in funeral service since 1995. After graduating from Delgado Community College he moved to his hometown of Breaux Bridge, LA, and began his career with Pellerin Funeral Homes.



In 2007, James received his specialized training in post mortem reconstructive surgery at the Fountain National Academy, in Springfield, Missouri. While attending the academy, James found answers to problems that he encountered during his past reconstructive efforts. James has reconstructed some of the most difficult traumatic injuries imaginable. His strong position regarding the value of open casket viewing is apparent with his passion for quality in the embalming profession.



Currently, James is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, and the Southwest Louisiana Funeral Directors Association.

Denise Dutil York Funeral Director - New Iberia

Denise Dutil York is a native of New Iberia and a 1989 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. In 1990 she moved to New Orleans to attend mortuary school. She began her career in funeral service in 1995 at Baker Funeral Home in Baker, Louisiana, where she worked for 20 years.

 

Denise has been employed with Pellerin Funeral Home since February 2016 and is excited to be back home among her family and friends. Being very compassionate, she is honored to be able to serve families at one of the most difficult times of their lives, and considers it a gift to be able to assist others through their grief.

 

Denise is a member of the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association and the Individual Funeral Directors Association. She was formerly a member of the Baker Chamber of Commerce, Baker Lions Club, and St. Isidore Catholic Church.

 

Denise has a love for the outdoors, and is an advanced certified scuba diver.  In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, the beach, bonfires, and getting together with family and friends.

Amelia D. Faulk Funeral Director

Amelia is a native of Lafayette and currently resides in Carencro.  She is a graduate of Lafayette High School, class of 2014, and knew from a young age that she would pursue a career in funeral service.

Debbie Guidry-Gauthier Funeral Director - Family Assistance Coordinator

A life-long resident of Breaux Bridge, Debbie graduated with honors from Breaux Bridge High School in 1980. After graduation, she worked in the banking industry for fifteen years, while completing several American Institute of Banking courses at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

 

She has been employed with Pellerin Funeral Homes since April 1996, serving as the Family Assistance Coordinator.

 

Being empathetic, giving the utmost attention to detail, and providing excellent service to families are imperative to her. Because of her sincere compassion and dedication to assisting families during their time of loss and grief she decided to pursue a career in Funeral Directing. Debbie began her studies with Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service to become a licensed funeral director in October 2010 and graduated, with honors, on June 17, 2011. She became a licensed Funeral Director in October 2012.

 

Debbie is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, and the Southwest LA Funeral Directors Association.

 

She is a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she was a member of the parish council, serving as the finance commissioner and parish life commissioner. She also helped organize St. Bernards church fair and served as auction chairman. In addition, she assisted in coordinating and organizing the St. Bernard Church Childrens Mass, and has served as co-coordinator.

 

Debbie was actively involved for many years with St. Bernard Elementary School. She is a past member of the St. Bernard School Foundation Board, where she served as secretary. For several years, she assisted and chaired Grandparents Day, along with chairing and co-chairing the schools auction. In May 2001, she was awarded the St. Bernard School Volunteer of the Year Award.

 

In her free time she enjoys traveling, cooking and baking, and has also created her own cookbook for her immediate family and close friends to enjoy, "Deb, do you have a recipe for?" In 2012 she became a Regional Contributor to the unique culinary magazine, Louisiana Kitchen & Culture a pastime and venture which she thoroughly enjoys.

Shelbadean L. Guidry Comptroller

Better known as Shelba to her family and friends, she is a native of Breaux Bridge, graduating from Breaux Bridge High School in 1977. She has worked as a bookkeeper since 1977 and has been employed with Pellerin Funeral Homes, Inc. since 1990. Shelba presently serves as the comptroller for Pellerin Funeral Homes and Pellerin Life Insurance Company.

 

Shelba is a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church Adult Choir. She was very active with St. Bernard Catholic School volunteering in many areas, as well as being a past president of the Parents Education Partnership (P.E.P.) organization and serving as co-director of the annual St. Bernard School Symposium. Shelba was also a past secretary for the Teurlings Catholic High School Board.

 

She has also been involved with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, Louisiana, where she was a member of the church choir and acted as a youth minister to the churchs younger parishioners. She also served as a mentor to students at Breaux Bridge Senior High School.
